A freezing cold shower
This idea turns people off as it conjures images of some sado-masochist who loves pain and discomfort. If you ever wake up and have that foggy brain feeling with no urge to do anything in particular (for example as a result of heavy weed smoking) I would say the best thing for me is to take a cold shower. It can be started off hot and then slowly turned colder and colder for less of a shock to the system.
The immediate sensation of the cold focuses my mind on that and that only, this is amazingly good for clearing my mind and gaining a sense of direction. When I step out of those cold showers I'm surrounded by a warm glow (possibly an endorphin rush) which lasts all day.
I've only been doing this for two weeks but I feel altogether more calm, content, physically stronger and comfortable. Anyone else noticed the benefits of a cold shower?

yeah if I shock myself too much i feel like i might have a tired spell later in the day though but it definitely seems to produce an endorphin rush of some sort

man, I really love my hot showers, but I've been meaning to give the freezing morning death water a chance. I used to live in a house with no hot water - we rarely showered. I imagine that if it's self induced it's a little bit more tolerable though, huh?

i found you have to breathe deeply and fidget like a crazy goose so that you do not feel the cold, when the body demands it of you at least.

children don't worry about cold water, but adults cringe at it because they've forgotten how to bathe and what becomes of it.

interesting thought
i always hate the way i love a hot shower but then fear and dislike the stepping out of the warmth into the cold air
i like the idea of the other way around

i can only do a cold shower after being outside on a hot day...
now regarding morning blues, here's what helps:
wake&bake pushups a good breakfast music deep breaths thinking about what you WANT for the day (and not what you DONT WANT)
