The white bugs that won't die
    #6912987 - 05/14/07 07:59 AM (16 years, 10 months ago)

I have some kind of tiny white dots eating my mucelium... I'm not sure if they are fungal flies or not but evntually they become flies... and they are everywhere. I've recently tried neem and also a 24 hour dunk to see if they'll drown but nothing is working... they just same to be able to live through everything and keep on munching away... Does anyone have any suggestions?

Sounds like larvae, perhaps fruit flies. You need to dispose of the substrates to get rid of them. On the next batch, try to control the flies with sticky traps before they get into your substrates to breed. You might try some DE to see if it works, but it only works when dry, and it won't stay dry for long on a substrate. Disposal is probably the best option. You could bury them into manure or compost in a shady spot outside to get a crop.
