Found shrooms in Cow Poo need Id

Alright i just got back, not to long ago, from the field and im not sure what the hell i found. I dont have a camera so ill try and do my best with this description. They look like inky caps to me but i didnt think they grew in poo, am i correct? Anyways heres my description

Cap:Greyish or lavender, cone shaped

Gills:Black

Stem: Long, stringy, white, hollow

height: anywhere from 2 to 4 inches

spore print: Black

Sorry for not being able to put up any pics. Also, do liberty caps grow in Michigan? Cuz the only similarities i see in the shrooms i got are either liberty caps or inky caps. Yet i could be completely wrong, and thats where you guys all come in. Thanks :confused:

It sounds to me like inky caps. I went out a few days ago and found mushrooms on dung that fit your description perfectly and they did turn out to be inky caps. Try and get some pics up though. Look in my photo gallery, I have pics of my inky caps i found.

Reads like an inky to me. Libs don't have a black print, they grow more commonly in the fall, and unlikely to be found in michigan.

Yes. And some Inky Cap species do grow directly from dung. Also, Liberty Caps do not grow from dung, they grow in grassy habitats, particularly meadows.

Hehehe, I'm trying to keep afloat. School and work are killing me. I'm much less stressed when i am current on the forum, so i'm making an effort to prioritize. :wink:
