Hey! today realizing that my pressure cooker only took 1 quart at a time =) i cooked first one in pc opened like one and a half hours later (when it was depressurised ) and than cooked the other one and then waited like for 2 hours so what im asking is , i konw that the first one i cooked is cool and there wont be problems with it , but the new one i have done does it have a chance to effect spore growth (kill em ? ) , i ve let the pressure cooker be in the balcony to let it cool for 25 mins within that 2 hours period , anyway so what im guessing is if its still a lil bit hot inside i inoculated from 4 sides and the spores won't be affected much because i've inoculated it near sides , and the temperatures will prolly be cooler at the desired temperatures within half an hour - an hour will they be affected at all ? (the jar was warm to touch , but not too warm , slightly warm on the outside ) any help will be appreciated , peace =)
UPDATE: Seen growth in 2/2 of my jars my impatience didn't burn my babies =)

always let your jars cool overnight before inoculating. You have been exposing these jars to temperatures over 100°C and they contain a lot of water, which takes a long time to cool down, much longer than the metal of your cooker.
Warm sensation in the human hand happens at around 40°C/104°F which can't be very good for your spores. I'm not sure what the lethal temperature for spores is, one of the old hands might be able to say

yeah i know i should have waited but , i had to stay awake only to inoc em like 4 more hours =( anyway i gues i' ll see what happens within 3 or 4 days , waiting part sucks in times like these =/
hmm anyone else have any other ideas , i guess they won't have to face high temperatures so long anyway it'll cool within the next 0.5-1 hours by itself to normal degrees

after doing some search from prior posts what i^'ve found out is 106 degree is death point for mycelium if heated more than a day or so , and in another post i've seen that spores act differently and might stand temperatures around 120 degree or slightly above for some period of time ( which is in my conditiond for 30-45 mins ), my jar being not too hot on the outside to the touch and ,and being inoculated from sides i guess it may have a chance to grow .

if it was warm to the touch, theres a chance you may have annihilated the lil guys :S always wait overnight at the very least.. and also, for future reference, its not a bad idea to wait a couple days, just to make sure no mold pops up right away, mostly ensuring you have sterilized the substrate correctly

Actually, that's a terrible idea and I cringe everytime I see it repeated. 'Sterilization' is never complete, but only gives a window of opportunity to get the grains colonized. Wait until the jars return to room temperature, and then inoculate.
Glass is an insulator, so if they were even slightly warm on the outside of the glass, your spores are probably cooked and doomed. It never pays to be in a hurry in this hobby. Waiting twelve hours to inoculate is the proper thing to do, and you don't gain anything by doing it sooner. RR

Lots of 'teks' were written by first time growers who like naming things after themselves. There's so many bogus ones, I've lost count. I just try to set the record straight when I can. Molds are killed by temperatures far below boiling, so if a jar was PC'd or steamed for the proper time, it's quite obvious that molds were killed off. RR

Ok, back when i was super newbie i inoculated a really warm jar.. I didn't have a clue, anyway i must have been lucky cause it worked. You aint doomed, just give it a wait and report back when/if you see mycelium. Newbie luck all the way

I am not sure if strains are all the same but I knocked up 12 pint jars of wbs with Taz multispore when I was a noobie after waiting 4 hours after pcing they they seemed only slightly warm to the touch but I waited for 2 months and nothing grew. Yours being quart jars you might as well order more spores now if you dont have any left. If anything grows I'll bet its a contaim

Thanks for all the posts , one jar was inoculated 5 hours later and one inoculated after 2 hours only , i hope i have some newbie luck like psilosibling , anyway i've got 2 more syringes (homemade) available so it wont be much problem but it also won't hurt to see some mycelium in there a few days later =)
