Here's an interesting Bolete found in the bush in my area through Autumn! These first three images are of a mutant specimen that looks like triplets.
A nice specimen below and the last image shot from a birds eye view shows how they don't seem to mind growing on strange angles , you can also see the pores on the slug eaten one!
Habit: Solitary, sometimes in pairs, fruiting from soil and leaf litter in Autumn. Habitat: New Zealand native bush, usually under Podocarpus totara and Leptospermum scoparium. Cap: 20-45mm diameter, hemispheric, colour light pinkish brown? slightly rough surface, dry, flesh white, cartilaginous. Pores: Attached when young becoming free with maturity, colour white, pores seem to be either very fine or closed!? Stem: 15-30mm long by 10-15mm diameter, enlarged near the apex, colour white, flesh similar to cap. Spores: White. Possibly a Tylopilus sp or Porphyrellus sp? I hope someone can shed some light on this interesting species, it's been bugging me for a while. inski

Did you actually do a spore print or is the color guessed from the tube color? Here in North America there are no species of bolete with a white spore print. The most common mushrooms with white spore prints that are similar to boletes are polypores from the genus Albatrellus. So if the spore print is actually white then you should see if the tubes can be peeled from the cap flesh. If not, then you probably have an Albatrellus.
Tylopilus have pinkish spore prints, and Porphyrellus have dark brown ones.
Happy mushrooming!

Weird, nice find. Looked like mold at first glance but it clearly is just the pore colour. Beyond my knowledge

I made a spore print, It was quite faint but definately looked white! Next time I get a good specimen I'll examine it more closely. inski...
