Question about cobweb mold..
    #6678984 - 03/17/07 12:52 AM (17 years, 17 days ago)

ok so i had put one of my first casings in the Fc the otherday, and the next day i inspected it to fan, and i saw what looked like 1-1/5 inch grey hairs coming out of the one corner, so i sprayed with h2o2 and seperated from my other casing, and its now gone, but when i bend the plastic casing container down a little to have a look see at the side of the casing, you can see a little bit of what looks like pet hairs that fell on to and into the casing...so i sprayed a little bit more, and so far everything is gone, but i am afraid that the cob is growing inside the substrate, atleast a little bit to where its gonna keep coming back..but my questions are.
1. will the cob come back? and if so if i keep spraying it will it be safe to fruit?

and 2.where does cob come from? i mean it cant just spontanously form and grow..and is there a way to 100% get rid of it?

thanks in advanced guys..

Dactylium spores are in the air everywhere. Proper air exchange is the prevention. It only grows in still, stale, damp air. Moving, fresh air is not hospitible to it. 3% peroxide will melt it on contact. It usually takes three sprayings 12 to 24 hours apart to kill it off, but air exchange is the best preventative measure.
