When to throw away a fully colonized jars
    #6677117 - 03/16/07 02:39 PM (17 years, 17 days ago)

When would you think its risky to spawn with an old jar? I have an over abundance of spawn right. Should i toss the older jars. The older jars fully colonized about a month ago. Just worried about contams. By the way my sterilization is top notch. Never lost a jar since my 1st batch ever went terribly wrong

If there is no contamination in your jars, you can use them. People have reported using jars months after they are fully colonized. At least give it a try.

They're find for spawning to bulk substrates, but I wouldn't use them for grain to grain transfers or anything like that. Use freshly colonized grains for g2g.

When cleaning and rearranging things I once found 4 jars in my tub in tub that I quit using a long time ago,Than I remembered that I had put them there after a grow I did a while back and I just put them there to catch up cause for some unknown reason they were lagging when I spawned all my other jars,I don't remember exactly how old they were but they were quite old and I spawned them anyway and they turned out fine

what would be the latest recommended time to keep colonized jars for g2g?
