My pal always raves about DiMarzio Tone Zone pickups and how he wants some because they sound so good. I don't know if they do personally, but it might be a good thing to check out.

GFS - bang for your buck, you can get a set for like $70 and they sound really nice

Seymour Duncan - has a nice hums from low output to pretty high output. Check out seymourduncan.com to compare sound clips

DiMarzio - I don't know a whole lot about them, but know that alot of people dig them. They come stock in some signature guitars like Steve Vai's Ibanez or Satriani's Ibanez.

Gibson 500T - This is the hottest Gibson pickup that comes standard in the bridge position of the Les Paul Classic. You might want to give this one a try.

There are some other lesser known pickups around like Bill Lawrence, Bareknuckle, and Fralin but I don't know a whole lot about them. Only heard that they are really high quality (also high price).

EMG hums are popular with the heavy crowd. I don't know exactly what sound you're looking for, but you may want to check the EMG 81, 85, 60 hums out.
