Feeling out of place?

Anyone ever get the feeling of being completely in the wrong physical place? Maybe you belong in a completely different location which you don't even know exists.
Example: You're born in Jacksonville, FL. Somewhere in Canada would be ideal for you. How would one go about figuring out this ideal place? Has anyone ever just packed up and moved and found their place?
edit:is there any kind of name or generalization for this kind of question so that I could further research my curiosity?

I just start thinking... What the fuck are the odds that I would be most happy to live where I was born. Then I start thinking... How the fuck do I find out where I should go?
Any good info or readings on this would be much appreciated.

This may sound very lame, but just go where your gut instinct tells you. Really and truly, that is what I would do.
I know for me sometimes when I experience deja vu I feel as if it is the universe telling me I am in the exact place that I should be at that moment in time. Perhaps a subtle cue such as deja vu or "gut instinct" as I said earlier will guide you.
There is no sure-fire way to tell you exactly where to move. Other than what I mentioned previously, your best bet is to research places online and/or travel to potential locations.

I guess if I had to pick right now it would be California. I'm sick of the cold of New England and everyone here seems up-tight. I guess I have it in my head that people in California are more friendly and laid back.

Has anyone ever just packed up and moved and found their place?
I did.
Several times.

yes, but be pragmatic about it. set up a plan for yourself...work for it! through this work you may find that your initial destination you planned on going to might not be the right place.
I moved to the other side of the world and am very happy.
to the person going to India, that's a crazy place, make sure you know where the fuck you are going. I'm not saying it's bad at all, just different than the states altogether. you'll have to think in a totally different way...easier said than done.
good luck to you guys in your travels, a little forethought goes a long fuckin way.
-------------------- Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.
