This is my first time going bulk. I have done hours of research, this is what i have come up with... please tell me what you think. i didnt want to go overboard with a ton of shit and i am terrified of using coffee.
3 bricks - (dry @ 11 lbs each) Procoir coco coir 24 quarts - very fine vermiculite (which is hardly any...) 8 lbs - "premium quality, natural" Gypsum 5 quarts - Dr Pursifull's Organic Worm Tea
what do you think?

first time i would suggest going with a simple already proven tek and not try and outdo yourself. spawn to horse shit!

Hey jenerikairet, thanks for the suggestion.. but im really just looking for comment on what ive listed, as it has already been made and is about 1/2 way through pasturizing. quite honestly, I didnt want to use Horse shit. I wanted a substrate that is coir based. i didnt nesessarily make this up on my own.. and it was rather simple to put together, although, it may not have been proven to this extent exactly..

i would recommend using grainspawn, or a pf tek to inoculate the bulk first. it may also be wise to sterilize your media, and then leave it be for a few days to ensure the absance of contaminates.
just my opinion. no more, no less.

i should also ask, is a 1:3 ratio spawn / bulk substrate enough to colonize quickly? i would like to minimize the possiblity of contams.

1:4 is plenty. Try this one, it's not very complicated.
From Wronguy:
Yield: 4 large filter patch spawn bags
Ingredients: 48 Cups Shredded Horse Manure 24 Cups Vermiculite 16 ½ Cups Wild Bird Seed 4 Tablespoons Kelp Meal 6 Tablespoons Canola Oil 21 Cups Water
or, try mine
38 Cups Shredded Horse Manure 14 Cups Vermiculite 10 Cups Coco Coir 14 Cups Wild Bird Seed+barley grain+wheat berries 4 Cups Organic Worm Castings (11/2 1lb bags) 4 Cups Garden Gypsum 2 Cups Spent Coffee Grinds 4 Tablespoons Kelp Meal 6 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil 4 Tablespoons Hydrated Lime 18 Cups Water (approx, prolly more)- (add 1/8 tea hyd lime to a gallon used to hydrate coir if coir is new)
-------------------- A Good Substrate: Poo With Extras Good Liquid Culture, Step by Step Timer Modification PM me if you are interested in buying 140ml syringes. $6 each + $7 shipping

well, ive decided to add a bag of steer manure to the mix. I have read a lot of mixed things about it, but decided to give it a try. its a small proportion of my substrate... hopefully it will help.
I soaked it, i pasturized it on its own, onces mixed w/ the rest of the substrate, that will be pasturized again together before adding the spawn. so, how do you think this mix will work out??
3 bricks - (dry @ 11 lbs each) Procoir coco coir 28 liters of steer manure 48 quarts - veiry fine vermiculite (whch is hardly any...) 4 lbs - "premium quality, natural" Gypsum 5 quarts - Dr Pursifull's Organic Worm Tea ph will be adjusted w/ hydrated lime..
will this be a decent bulk?
