reinnonculation in myco bags?
    #6625266 - 03/01/07 05:31 PM (17 years, 1 month ago)

i got 4 bags from sporeworks and injected in the middle of the cake and put in the cardboard box it came with and in the dark.
tommorrow willbe 14 days with no visisble mycelium
i have 2 new syringes on the way, and sporeworks said it should be just fine to reinnoculate the same bags.

What does everybody think on my situation?

should moisture be added or no?

any tips on this go around?

well i havent opened the bag but no it looks just like it did when it arrived

most said to wait until 14 days if no visible signs crumble move around the grains and see if anything is in the middle.

im just wondering on the moisture content and reinnoculating it after 14 days
obviously this times i will be aimed for the sides of the bags and top of the substrate

let me know what you think

thanks

Are you incubating the bags? They should be incubated at around 82 degrees...
If you got the bags from a vendor I'd hope that they got the moisture content right. Even at room temps you should see some growth after two weeks..
You could try reinnoculating the bags. How many ccs did you noc em with?
My advice is, if this is your first grow you probably want to do some cakes first. They're a lot simpler than grains it's a good way to start. Take baby steps dude!

I picked up a few of those new "BLACK" grain-based bags from mycofactory in January, mixed thoroughly, inoculated and incubated but never saw any growth, I still have them in the incubator even now.

I also thought about re-inoculating mine, but I would imagine they've dried up by now and one would have to re-hydrate them somehow.

i have grown twice before both from these myco bags at just room temps and worked fine.

these bags seem the easiest , less evasive way of doing it.
the bags were from a sponsor here and the same people i got them from a few years back when i grew.

the bag is near a water heater and the temps are around 75 and dark.any better place for them?

i used 2 syringes for 4 bags, and shot in 3 different spots in each bag but all in the middle of the substrate
the replacement spores are going tobe there tommorrow and i just wanted some tips and if re nocing them will do the trick given no contamination.

these bags arent cheap either and want to use them.
i dont have a innocubator handy, best place to put them is?

anymore information is appreciated
as the last two times were so easy and simple with good results

Here's my experience with myco-bags. When i first started this hobby long ago, i decided to try the myco-bags. From a straight injection of spores it would take about a month to 2 months for it to be fully colonized.

I dunno what was going. Make sure you break it up real good after inoculation to see if that helps you.
