Icelander has done this lately. Hopefully he will see this and enlighten us about the benefits of the practice.
-------------------- "A warrior is a hunter. He calculates everything. That's control. Once his calculations are over, he acts. He lets go. That's abandon. A warrior is not a leaf at the mercy of the wind. No one can push him; no one can make him do things against himself or against his better judgment. A warrior is tuned to survive, and he survives in the best of all possible fashions." ― Carlos Castaneda

Still part of my daily practice. (most days anyway) I made a post about this awhile back. I said I will give it one year before making comment on whatever benefits it may possess for me in particular.

SURELY you could let this individual know if the practice seems worth their time even for possible short term benefits? Unless you are exploring these multidimensional worlds and not letting the rest of us in on the fun...talk about a cheap high

From a physical point of view. It is beneficial IMO. It works the body in unusual ways. Working on tendons and core muscles. It seems to be a whole body workout. Also it takes concentration as the moves are unusual and intricate. Concentration may be the prime mover here.

Quote:
bradleycny said: I think Castaneda gives the explanation that the movements help repress mental chatter by filling the mind with kinesthetic memory. He also says that these particular movements are unique in their effect..."magical". I guess I will have to wait to hear your experience of this aspect.
I need the DVD, I can't remember all the details of the descriptions to each movement when I attempt a sequence. Do each movement right after I read it I guess, build it into the kinesthetic memory.
Yes, the idea behind the Passes is to stop the internal dialog.
Yes also to using the DVD.

What's a DVD?
-------------------- "Have you found the beginning, then, that you are looking for the end? You see, the end will be where the beginning is. Congratulations to the one who stands at the beginning: that one will know the end and will not taste death."

I found it long winded and hard to understand the exact movements without seeing them done. Looks like it has some potential

Can anyone else comment on the " magick " of these exercises and just how ancient they are?
