Best Shpongle Album?

I've been looking for some cool music to trip to for awhile now, and it seems a lot of people suggest Shpongle. What album should I buy if i could only buy one? And what are the "must have" songs of all the albums?

Definately "tales of inexpressible". But why don't you donload all their albums from the internet? No money and you get all of them plus more of that kind of music.

I like Are You Shpongled? better than Tales of the Inexpressible because I think it is deeper and more atmospheric. I haven't heard the latest one.

Shpongle aren't exactly lesser known - they're probably the biggest psychedelic chill act by a large, large margin. Still, they aren't rolling in money either so do go out and buy Are You Shpongled? Also, check out shit like Shulman, Carbon Based Lifeforms and Entheogen.

My favorite by far is Nothing Lasts... But Nothing is Lost. You can't tell where one song ends and one begins because it's really just one big song.

Nothing Lasts... but Nothing is Lost
My vote. Most musically ecclectic, well-produced and refined, in my opinion.
Cheers!

Thanks everyone! I've been enjoying Carbon Based Lifeforms, and William Orbit too! Good stuff

I like them all for different reasons
Are You Shpongled? - great for a slow progressing trip, ideal music from the onset into the peak and out again.
Tales of the Inexpressable - always good for a lively, fun, positive trip.
Nothing Lasts, But Nothing is Lost - ultimate shamantic vision quest music, I've always had very barmy experiences listening to this whilst peaking.
Bear in mind I always take high dosages, 5g+.

yeah they're all good. just make sure if you're downloading to get the whole album. personally my favorite is Nothing Lasts... But Nothing Is Lost, maybe just because that was the first one I heard and tripped to. You might want to start with Are You Shpongled and work your way up. It doesn't matter though, they're all great.

Even more importantly make sure you get a gapless version (preferably FLAC) and have software that can cope with gapless playback.

I absolutely love shpongle. I've been a huge fan for years. I gotta say, at first I was a little disappointed with Nothing Lasts but it really grew on me. The reason I really dig shpongle is because they have all of those ethnic instruments and that really organic sound.
I'm gunna check out those other artists you named.
Also, you should check out Mystery of the Yeti

All is a miracle.” -Thich Nhat Hanh

'Nothing Lasts... But Nothing Is Lost' would be the most intense album in my opinion. Because it has a lot of songs, and all of those songs are different. My personal favourite would be 'Are You Shpongled?'. Just a nice, easy listening album with lots of interesting sounds, even when you aren't tripping!

All you need for gapless playback is a player that handles that function. I personally use Winamp. Not sure if it's a default plug in, but I downloaded one called Mp3splice, which works wonders.
Also, I'll vote for Are You Shpongled? as the best Shpongle album. They're all great, but this one is an absolute gem.

definitely are you shpongled? DMT and behind closed eyelids are my favorites. however if you really want to get freaked out get some Baphomet Engine - Psytrance is Dead! that shit will fuck you up. but use shpongle to chill.
