grain to grain transfer screwup- where did it go wrong?

i did g2g transfer on 5 jars three days ago and now all of them are showing signs of contam. they all have cobwebs and one of them seems to have black mold and the other one green. the transfer was done in a ghetto made sterilization box- it's basically cardboard box with a window on top and rubber gloves taped up with ducktape. The box was thoroughly lysolled before the transfer. i know the box is poorly built and probably is the main suspect in this foul up but still i'd like to question other possibilities- could the healthy full colonized jar that i transfered from have been harboring the germs but in dormant form because of mycelium overpowering them? if so what does that tell me about the casing that was made using that jar?!! is it doomed also?

Sounds like the mother jar was bad, but didn't show bad yet. When you made the transfers. As, 5 days is not long, to get green in a jar. Unless it was in colonized wbs/grains, when the transfer, was made.

nah it was a popcorn jar- and the mother jar was really the fastest healthiest looking jar of the bunch- and now it's gone into casing w/ coco coir- do you think the casing's doomed too?

ok so now the rest of the jars have become unsalvagable which makes it all five g2g jars that i'm trashing. I don't know where it went wrong- the glovebox setup is pretty darn secure and the jar was the one with fastest and healthiest growth. If the contam came from the jars, what does it tell me about the casing that i made with it? Also, is it possible for contams to go dormant like that?

i would take it out because if you don't "probably too late now" the contam spores and stuff are all thru your house , might mess up future grows ;(

wouldn't it have to have been in the house already in order to get it contaminated in the first place? i can't afford to put on aprons and go all maid service in my house right now. I live at a pretty big place and on top of that i'm busy. i'm pretty secure about spore inoculation techniques (since it's the easiest) the only thing i'm concerned with is casing procedures. do they have to be done in a pure sterile environment? My understanding is that if it's pasturased you can pretty much touch it with your bare hands?
