Tripping music

Hey, I wanted to get everybody's opinion...
I have been looking for some good music to trip to and I need some suggestions! I don't want anything that sounds like techno or anything that might stress me out.
I want to find something that's like Dark Side of the Moon, or "May This be Love" by Jimi Hendrix. Something that is somewhat slow-moving and dream-like.
Anything come to mind?

Although not fitting your requirements exactly, if you like Floyd and Hendrix try albums by the following:
Super Furry Animals Julian Cope Sly and the Family Stone Funkadelic Amorphous Androgynous Kingbury Manx Radiohead Grateful Dead Ravi Shankar The Flaming Lips Oakley Hall Sigur Ros
-------------------- "You've got to get hold of the thread of marching time, pull the fuck thing down, get on the end of it and pang yourself to the infinitude of absolute mind" Ken Campbell - Furtive Nudist "The mystery of life is not a problem to be solved but a reality to be experienced" - Aart van der Leeuw

Anything by Air, especially talkie walkie. Also look into Thievery Corporation, Lamb, Massive Attack, Portishead, Boards of Canada, Sigur Ros, Explosions in the Sky, Mogwai.. etc.

I only heard one album of theirs once, but look at underworld.
also: machina - smashing pumpkins (definitely definitely psychedelic and definitely definitely badass) treasure - cocteau twins (will get a mood going. reminds me much of DMT...but I smoked dmt while listening to it many times)

Seriously last time I did acid and listened to this sond I lost my mind.
Look up the album Rockin the Rhein with Grateful Dead - third disk
Dark Star > Me and My Uncle > Dark Star > Wharf Rat...
The whole endeavor is over an hour long.
If you want to listen to trippy music there is no better band the Grateful Dead. They invented trippy music at the Electric Kool-Aid Acid Tests... I HIGHLY recommend you check this out.

* Crystal Method * Pole Folder * Concord Dawn * John Digweed global underground * Nick Warren's album "Back to Mine"
I highly suggest listening to crystal method's album VEGAS from beginning to end when tripping.
But! nothing beats jamming with a band or mixing you own music while tripping.

Radiohead is a good suggestion I think. Funkadelic is too, especially the title track off of Maggot Brain, 10:21 of just an amazing guitar solo. Really great to listen to while tripping, he played it while on acid. Stuff by Matthew Shipp can also be good.

radiohead is kinda depressing. most of their stuff in played in minor keys. to me this puts me in a sad funk when I am tripping.

Yeah I guess I can see that. Personally any music I listen to I enjoy, regardless of key and lyrics. Unless a specific song has sad memories attached, but even then I still gain stuff from listening to them. I just throw my iTunes on random and listen to whatever comes on, I have yet to change a song while tripping.

By far the best album to listen to while tripping is Artifact by Sound Tribe Sector 9. Ive never ever had music affect my trip so drastically. This music will turn you inside out. Im shocked no one else has mentioned them. Heres the best way to do it. Go into a very dark room so you cant see anything, put this in the CD player, put on the headphones, blast the music and be prepared to be taken to outerspace!

American Beauty is a more relaxing album in my opinion but Terrapin Station is great too.
Also, a very good album that I enjoy relaxing to on a trip is "Acadie" by Daniel Lanois. Great album, highly recommended, I've attatched a song titled "Still Water" from that album if you want to check it out.
