It would depend on the type of equality that one is referring to. I personally cannot think of a lot of circumstances in which we are all equal.

In my opinion, it all depends on how you look at it.
If you examine us (humans) from our cultural (and the majority of other cultures that are human) perspective, then I believe yes, despite the fact that that is so obviously not true. We are told through religions, our gov't (from the past, ex. US Constitution, to the present politicians advocating this, but not acting it), our families (again, most of us) that all humans are equal. I would like to believe it, and on some levels it is true; ex. we all do have the capacity of feelings (presuming not autistic, or lacking nerve endings) and we all have the capacity to love.
Looking at us from an animalistic perspective, we are obviously not all created equal. Deformed animals do not live, and are even sometimes killed by their parents. Animals with poor eyesight or certain illnesses at birth will eventually die. An animal that is lazy will die. There are obvious signs of the lack of equality among alpha-males (gorillas, baboons, wolves/dogs, big cats, etc...).

In the words of Madeleine L'Engle, "Like and equal are not the same thing at all."
-------------------- "There is no formula for generating the authentic warmth of love. It cannot be copied. You cannot talk yourself into it or rouse it by straining at the emotions or by dedicating yourself solemnly to the service of mankind. Everyone has love, but it can only come out when he is convinced of the impossibility and the frustration of trying to love himself. This conviction will not come through condemnations, through hating oneself, through calling self love bad names in the universe. It comes only in the awareness that one has no self to love." ~Alan Watts

I think in most contexts it refers to rights. To avoid semantic confusion it should probably read: "All men ought to have equal rights", "All men deserve to be treated equally", or something along those lines. I completely agree with it in this sense.
But, as far as everyone being equals (Man-1 == Man-n), I disagree. Everyone seems to have different abilities, skills, talents, intellegence, strength, knowledge, etc.

Nope. And it has nothing to do with physical structure (strength, looks, ect) some people are naturally happier than others.

The philosophy that all men are created equal works as a functional belief, not a truthful one. It's usefulness is in assuring equality under the law, but that is as far as it extends. Clearly, in specific situations, there is a great divergence in capacity and skill among human beings.

Birth and death are the great equalizers, and all men are subject to both. Women, too, for that matter.
-------------------- “Strengthened by contemplation and study, I will not fear my passions like a coward. My body I will give to pleasures, to diversions that I’ve dreamed of, to the most daring erotic desires, to the lustful impulses of my blood, without any fear at all, for whenever I will— and I will have the will, strengthened as I’ll be with contemplation and study— at the crucial moments I’ll recover my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

Depends on your perspective.
-------------------- "What is in us that turns a deaf ear to the cries of human suffering?" "Belief is a beautiful armor But makes for the heaviest sword" - John Mayer Making the noise "penicillin" is no substitute for actually taking penicillin. "This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or their revolutionary right to dismember or overthrow it." -Abraham Lincoln

It is a legal concept the point of which is that no man is above the law. Mostly a specific response to the abuses of European royalty but can also be applied to wealth.
