Yonder Mountain String Band
not really "jazzy" but definitely not traditional.

Hmmm, I wish I could help you, but I'm not familiar with any "jazzy" bluegrass artists. At best, I might be able to recommend jazzy songs, but I don't have an abundance of them because I'm a fan of both traditional and progressive grass. Trampled by Turtles is an excellent progressive bluegrass band. As mentioned above, YMSB is great (saw them 3 nights in a row over New Years). If you haven't listened to John Hartford, I'd recommend that.
Again, these are more progressive bluegrass bands, not "jazzy" grass bands. Bela might be your best bet for the jazz.

Dave Grisman has some real nice jazz grass. Try some of his stuff with his new band. It's got a real nice latin feel, and great improv. They are incredible.

Definitely check out Dave Grisman. He plays a mad jazz mandolin.
Also as mentioned above, Yonder Mountain is worth checking out Although they are not particularly jazzy, alot of their jams are improvisational masterpieces.
