Mushrooms Off The Radar in U.S.?

I understand that mushrooms are illegal in the U.S., but you hardly ever hear about them in main-stream media. Even on DEA educational sites mushrooms are not usually mentioned. It's kind of nice that there isn't a big negative propaganda campaign against them. Does anyone know any statistics on mushrooms? Like how many people use/have used them in certain age groups?

Use Erowid, you'll find readings for just about anything mushroom. I'm glad mushrooms are off the radar too. It's not like cops go looking for them like they do with other drugs...you're just fucked if you're found with them.

Actually most mainstream news carriers recently reported the positive findings of that psilocybin study in their frontpage news..

That's true.

The only times I've ever really seen it mentioned besides the recent studies are poly-drug busts "... pounds of marijuana... hundred pills of ecstasy, and 10 grams of psilocybin, AKA magic mushrooms." (always phrased as psilocybin first). Also there was one case of a grow busted, reported as an unusual, 'not your every day' bust. But it was many dozens of pounds.
