I am going to be ordering a bunch of books off of Amazon here in a couple days. I need a good list of stuff to get!
I am looking for anything/everything; what book do you think a person should not be without?
ciao!

"Cat's Cradle" -Kurt Vonnegut-And yes it's as philosophical as it is hilarious!
and
"The Handbook to Higher Consciousness"-Ken Keyes-I know it sounds cheesy as fuck, but it is a really good read.
-------------------- Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.

I have compiled a personal list, complete with links to the best editions on amazon for just such an occasion...
eventually I will have multiple sections and complete descriptions, but these are some great books.

Anything from Stanislav Grof.
-------------------- "Who are you who live in all these many forms? You're death that captures all. You too are the source of all that's gonna be born. You're glory, mercy, peace, truth. You give calm a spirit, understanding, courage, the contented heart."

Wendell Berry's The Unsettling of America is a pretty good critique of western culture. The section entitled The Body and The Earth is especially insightful, imo.

the electric kool-aid acid test- for sure.
-------------------- "People living deeply have no fear of death." "Love the animals, love the plants, love everything. If you love everything, you will perceive the divine mystery in things. Once you perceive it, you will begin to comprehend it better every day. And you will come at last to love the whole world with an all-embracing love." "Our problems are man-made, therefore they may be solved by man. No problem of human destiny is beyond human beings."

the Power of NOW by Eckhart Tolle
-------------------- I am the MacDaddy of Heimlich County, I play it Straight Up Yo! ....I embrace my desire to feel the rhythm, to feel connected enough to step aside and weep like a widow, to feel inspired, to fathom the power, to witness the beauty, to bathe in the fountain, to swing on the spiral of our divinity and still be a human...... Om Namah Shivaya, I tell you What!
