what an ignorant basterd.

when you enlist to serve your country you dont have an option to go to war... no1 "wants" to go to iraq.

what a piece of shit.. probably enlisted for the money and never expected to get deployed.

im in a similar position, but if they ever called my number i wouldnt fight it.. im serving my country

i hope he goes to jail and serves the maximum sentence.

piece of shit.

if you dont believe in the war, then dont voluntarily enlist.. and his whole bullshit about "after i learned the facts".. fuck that, well then as soon as you find out, then you file for a leave.. you dont wait and keep receiving a paycheck until you are called to deploy.

POS.

but what he said is true.
"
I, like many Americans, believed the administration when they said the threat from Iraq was imminent — that there were weapons of mass destruction all throughout Iraq; that there were stockpiles of it; and because of Saddam Hussein's ties to al-Qaeda and the 9/11 terrorist acts, the threat was imminent and we needed to invade that country immediately in order to neutralize that threat.
Since then I think I, as many, many Americans are realizing, that those justifications were intentionally falsified in order to fit a policy established long before 9/11 of just toppling the Saddam Hussein regime and setting up an American presence in Iraq"

at any time you can file to get out.. and then get your leave.

this guy continued to recieve his paychecks from the government until he was called upon to leave.. THEN he decided he didnt want to go.

YOU CAN GET OUT WHENEVER YOU WANT.

Honestly, I think this war sucks, but I have to agree with Banez here.

If you voluntarily sign up for the military, you take your chances with what the govt. wants you to do. The whole military code of honor is based on serving your country and following orders without question, including those of your dumbass president.

He signed up and swore to uphold the Constitution. He is doing so by refusing to fight that war, which is illegal according to the Constitution - which makes any treaty signed by the US gov't "equal to the law of the land."
Invading Iraq broke a few signed treaties, which means that every participant in that war is a criminal.
The military oath also charges that all personnel with the responsibility to disobey every unlawful command.

He is doing exactly what he signed up to do, what he swore to do. He is a true patriot, and he should be honored for being a good soldier amongst so many who aren't fulfilling their requirements and probably aren't even half aware of them.

it also quotes "I will obey the orders of the President of the United States, so help me God"

"that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservations or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office upon which I am about to enter; So help me God."

these are the words he said.

I agree with you on this one, though i am opposed to the war in Iraq, that man made it his fate when he joined the army...he knew he could get drafted and didn't quit the army. Throw his ass in jail and hang bush  :mushroom2:
