cope question

can copelandias grow in lawns or is it just manure they grow in? i've seen these guys that seem to me very similar to what i've seen copes in pictures (as i have never seen any in the wild) i am in sw florida for the christmas and that would be a great present.. will see if i can get some pics soon. thanks for the info.

Many non-active Panaeolus and Panaeolina species resemble active Copelandia. As far as I know, Copes do not grow in lawns, only off of horse or cow manure. They also bruise strikingly BLUE.
Check out GGreatOnes recent thread- he shows some active Panaeolus that are common of Florida lawns.

agreed-    lawns are the wrong type of habitat for copes,      but being in Florida you should still find them no prob in pastures
