My terrarium, what do you think
    #6375591 - 12/15/06 10:34 PM (17 years, 3 months ago)

I hung plastic on all surfaces of this room. Inside my incubater and terrarium are conveniently placed. My terrarium is a dual chambered martha. I hung plastic dividing it into two sections. Then I cold place my coolmist impeller and ultrasonic in one side while the mushies could be occupying the other. I heard RR talking about humidifiers on the inside, and I liked that idea. The top of this set up was cloth so I covered it with plastic. Then cut a window out so light could be hung above. I used acetate as the window layer.

here we enter. See the humidifiers.

Little further in. Incubater in back.

light from bottom

light from top

The humidifiers come through the center.

My only question is about ventilation. There wasn't a bottom so I made one. I left the martha plastic unconnected for the purpose of ventilation. Is there any better way I should go about it or is that correct?

So what do you think? Love to hear any suggestions.

Pics might be hard to see because the room is small so getting everything in the frame of reference is difficult, and everything is covered with a bunch of black, reflective plastic.

Looking good, cant quite see the bottom, but remember that
a lot of condensation will form on the walls, and run down to the floor
so a good water tight base is handy.

That set up will certainly do the job though, good work.

You bring up a good point. I can easily seal the bottom. But then I wonder where I would put ventilation for ae. Any Ideas?

I use an under-bed storage box at the base of my greenhouse and it collects a shit load of moisture...I just keep the zippers up a bit to allow gas to exit.
click the link in my sig if you would like to see a pic.

Actually Helltick, your model was the first tek I looked at and I based alot of my construction off of it, so thanks. I had origionally thought the storage bin wouldn't work because the fc is double wide. But I bet I can modify two storage bins together and have a custom made drip tray.
