Filter disks and pressure cooking...
    #637206 - 05/20/02 04:01 AM (21 years, 9 months ago)

I am wondering if anyone has purchased the plastic jar lids from sporeworks and if so... will they hold up to cooking them at 15 psi for 45min? and also, should you pressure cook with the filter discs on? Will this not allow too much water to get into the jars?

Yes, you want to pressure cook the jars with the filter discs on. But you don't not want to submerge your jars in the pressure cooker. Just fill the pressure cooker with enough water that will rise between 1 - 2 inches of your jar. You may also put aluminum foil over the top of each jar to help prevent the boiling water from entering your jars through the holes on top of the lids.

I hope this information helps.
