I would just use regular room temperature for fruiting and the submersible aquarium heater for incubation.

Doesn't it vary for different strains?
I'm growing cambodians now and I hear they love heat. I put a little fish tank heater in my FC. Unfortunately, the temperature is still in the low 70's.

thanks for the replies, but, nobody answered my questions: 1- how do people heat their FC, or does everyone live in ideal fruiting room temperature? 2- can i use an aquarium heater in my FC, would it work, has anyone done it? thanks again, hopefully this time someone will help me

The first three replies answered your questions, so hopefully you're just having a bad day. I'll repeat. Normal room temperature is fine for fruiting. Normal room temperature is defined as a temperature in the low 70's. If you need to heat your room to normal room temperature, do so.
You don't heat fruiting chambers. If you do, condensation will form on the sides, drawing humidity out of the air within. RR

HEAT BOMB = submersible aquarium heater = inserted through the lid of a tall glass jar = filled with water.
It will radiate heat. Adjust heat control dial accordingly.

Not saying its optimal but I am have low room temp. it varys from 66-70 now that winter weather is in full stride here. I tried using a heating pad and didn't work. I have also tinkered with a space heater and all it did was make the process take longer by drying everything out!!! I choose room temp and everything is doing much better then anything I have tried, but doesn't mean something wont work.

Just use a tub-in-tub setup man. It's cheap and you can't go wrong. 82 degrees all the way.

He's asking about heating the fruiting chamber, not incubator. A tub-in-tub setup isn't good for fruiting unless your house/apt is always cold. It prevents you from drilling holes for gas exchange above the perlite layer. Normal room temp is just fine.

Oops! was a little stoned when I replied.
Even if your room temperature is in the upper 60's they will still probably fruit, just much more slowly. I've seen them fruit in around 63 degrees before, it just took 25 days to pin.

I would not recommend wasting your time with a jar and an aquarium heater, the radiation of heat is incredibly minimal, more than anything it will simply provide a source of humidity due to the open water surface. I know this because I was a n00b, and I bought a jar and an aq heater for my incubation chamber... before I realized that's not what it's for, you are supposed to use it in conjunction with a Tub-in-Tub system, surrounding the inner chamber with the hot water.
If anything try locating the FC in a space that can be adjusted to room temp with a small electric floor heater like for office cubicles, or maybe one of those heat mats for reptile aquariums placed directly underneath it with some insulation in between. Safety first either way!

Im a noob too and im actually having the same problem. My temperature floats between 65-72. After 13 days of no pinning in my cases the mycelium started to turn yellow because its dying i believe. I decided to put my FC in the boiler room of my house and since the temp has been around 72 consistently. Just an idea for you to try maybe.
