Cheap furniture?

Currently I share an apartment with 3 other roommates. It's really hard to take living with 3 people so next year I'm living in a badass 1 person apartment on the top floor of an old house near my school. It's actually big enough for 2 people, so it's pretty huge, and has a large deck right out the door in the bedroom. Only thing is, it's not furnished. So I need to get a lot of furniture. Chairs, couches, tables, chests, etc etc. Everything.
Where are some good places to go to get furniture on a budget? and I'm very poor, as I'm a college student.

Craigslist in your area.
I've had nothing but goodluck with it. You can find some awesome deals. I got a kick ass glass coffeetable with iron frame for 50 bucks, just cuz this couple was moving out of state quickly and needed to get rid of it.

And don't forget to steal a bunch of milk crates. They stack up nice and all you have to do is add a few boards to make great bookshelves. Of course....they will be considered stolen property if someone really wanted to be a dick about it.

If you decide you want new furniture, value city had the best prices (by far) when I was looking around.

Salvation Army,Garage sales, Dumpster diving and Garbage picking.I don't care for Goodwill to much, most of there profit goes to there management.Look for a Salvation Army place around you're town at lest sal profits go back into the Salvation Army.Even some big churchs have stores for lower income people, you don't eve have to pay sometimes.Even some schools will have a sale of suff, when school is out.

I've seen a lot of decent, and sometimes downright nice furniture out by the road at people's houses with free signs. You gotta get 'em before they get rained on real bad though. If that fails look for yard sales, the same deal except the stuffs not free....but it's damn cheap. Cruise around, I'm sure you'll find something.

Yeah go to apartments dumpsters every week before garbage day, should be able to pick some good stuff out, I call it 'throw away furniture' because when you move you just put it out by the dumpster and hope some other poor college student needs it.
Also the best entertainment center I ever owned was 2 peaces of particle board, and 8 cinder blocks.
