The song is interesting enough. The continuous snare reminds me of the popping snare that was frequent in IN FLAMES' earlier stuff. You should probably develop your double bass skills a bit. Perhaps working with the bassist to develop some more complex rhythms would prove interesting, and would start to bring cool stuff out of the guitarists. That said, I could definitely see this in my playlist.

why do people insist on putting this kind of stuff out without offering anything new to the genre.

Thanks.. I'm always practicing new and challenging things. You may not be able to hear it but there are some fairly advanced double bass licks in this song.
There's a really cool DB groove after the blastbeat... It's not Donati, holy shit, this is brilliant. But complex would certainly apply.
This was a one taker, if that in any way influences opinion.
Cost the lead guitarist around $2,500 for four tracks.
Cost me some sweat and a damn good time.

good post. turned my head around yes, complex, but maybe it's just because i am unfamiliar with this genre of music (screaming, guttoral growling, constantly harmonized guitars) that makes me feel like there isn't anything new to this.
i'll download some more of this kind of stuff and familiarize myself, then get back to you.

Haha... yeah there's a few great bands in the genre and loads of not so great ones.
What were doing may not be completley unlike anything ever done before but were definatley a name to be reconed with in our area!
Our guitarist are aspiring to move to Norway or Switzerland and play metal for a career. Can't say I have the same dreams but that would be exciting, at least for awhile!

Thanks for the feedback... I suggest you take a look at the lyrics as well. I was really suprised when I heard them for the first time. Didn't think our vocalist had it in him.
This song (lyrics and guitar riffs/solos) were inspired by a group acid trip we all took last September. I probly should of mentioned that beforehand.
Sorry, I don't have any equipment or I'd make some samples for ya. I leave all the dirty work to our engineer!

Well... first of all, I've known these guys for a really long time before we started working together and The Horde has been a band long before I joined them.
I used to be in a metal band called The Speed Of Darkness. The guitarists from my current band are great friends with the guitarists from my previous band and they would always hang out at our practices and drink beers with us after shows and whatnot.
The Horde had been searching for a drummer for a really long time until I recommended one of my buddies to them... So, he was their drummer for quite awhile and The Horde and The Speed Of Darkness were like brother bands for about a year or so (we were always doing shows together, everyone was friends with everyone).
The Speed Of Darkness started to fracture due to internal conflicts and lack of a steady income... so behind the curtain, I told The Horde if or WHEN The Speed OF Darkness breaks up, I'll be more than happy to join up with you guys.
... ANYWAY... My buddy who was the current drummer for The Horde called me up and said he had other things to do and thought that I could take the band farther than he could.. he resigned and put me in his place.
That's the short as shit version of what happened. Not your average "lets start a band" story haha.
