Fruiting Setup Q - PICTURES
    #6328274 - 12/02/06 07:20 PM (17 years, 4 months ago)

I recently colonized a growbag with B+ spores and they came out beautifully. Here is a picture of my rubbermaid fruiting chamber.

I used the 50/50 casing TEK and crumbled the mycelium between layers.

I am going to have go 12 hrs on and 12 off with the light each day. Underneath the tray is damp perlite. I was just wondering if I could get some feedback on my setup and what I do from this point besides airing out CO2 and misting the tray once in a while. This is my very first grow attempt.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

-C

I would do that up like a mono tub. Holes on each side with polyfill. You will have good air exchange. Look at mono tub techs. Then apply to the container you are using. I have had great results with mono tub set ups.

Poor fae leads to contams and or small fruits.

Just a thought.

Also wondering how I know if my humidity is high enough? Some drops inside the chamber and on the saran wrap is all I am seeing.

Damp perlite is enough for the humidity. If its damp and NOT submerged in water ur humidity will be 95-100%.

Read on a previous post to keep in the dark for 3-5 days after casing and then expose to light...anybody have any insight on that one?

i know wal-mart has temp/humidity gauge that shows high and low humidity. only like 6$. some say to incubate a casing, but ive seen rr say he puts it into the fruiting chamber as soon as he cases. this seems the smartest as it would allow the babies to use the casing as a resevoir and not substrate.

one of these was an LC
Which do you think it was?

As far as I know you should put your freshly cased substrate trays back into the incubator until you see mycelium establishing itself on the top layer.

Now, i know that once i pick, i am supposed to pick the entire flush within 24 hours. If I only have 3 or 4 shrooms out of this flush in the beginning is it okay to pick them? Here is a picture of what i am so stoked about. May not seem like much to 95% of people on this forum and I know that they may be difficult to see (look on the top right of the close up and you can see a little baby pin) but for my first grow i am totally flippin out. They are beautiful!

Hey man, good for you! My first try totally failed, so I know how stoked you've got to be.
