Look at a website that shows dogs and there personality's. American Kennel Club is a good one. There's all kinds of factors, the temperament of the dog, if ur gonna be around a lot or if your very busy, whether the dog is very energetic and need to be walked a lot and played with or weather it is lazy, how they are with kids, If they need a big yard or a small one, how long they live. You should look in to that and pick a dog you like and make sure it fits your agenda. I love dogs there mad fun to have as pets.

Bulldogs canbe very difficult to train, and are known for health problems.  They're definitely cool dogs, but might not be right for you.  Definitely whatever breed you get, do a ton of research on before you get it.

Also, Christmas is the worst time in the world to get a puppy.  The added stress around the house is not good for the dog, and it's a bitch to house break a puppy in the cold/snow.  Good luck though!

We have a Lab, and she's the best dog ever....Labs are great

In the last few months i have been wanting to get a dog, but my apartment is not that big and i wouldn't like my dog not having the space that he would need so I thought the bulldog was an option for me.

What i didn't like about them after i did some research was the fact that they are pretty expensive, but then every year is like buying a new dog, just because that is how much money you would spend in visits to the doctor (i assumed they were kind of exagerating). Another was their lifespan is very short, around 8 years, assuming the best care ever.

So i still want a dog and i ve been trying to put some money on the side for it, but since my apt is small, i decided i might get a smaller dog. So I chose another breed but still related to the bulldogs, which are french bulldogs, they are small and funny looking, but quite expensive too.

You should see what s the breed that is more convenient for your lifestyle.

If there is a dog park around you or anything, you could get a larger dog and just make sure to get it enough exercise.  Our apartment right now isn't big, but we take our lab for walks/swims/to the dog park a lot to make up for it.

I sound like a Lab commercial, I know, but they're just awesome dogs.  She took like, a day to housetrain, and knows so many tricks, it's great.  And she's really smart, gentle, and loving.

You obviously need to do some research, if your saying you want a bulldog.

They are extremely difficult to keep healthy. My old next door neighbor used to breed them. They require 110% attention.
