when i dunk for the second flush o i have to dry the cakes out of put them right in the fruting chamber

I have the same question, but for a mono tub, lets say your ready to harvest, you have a tub right there and you look in to see a sea of shrooms, what do you do?
well first you would carefullty twist and pull out all your shrooms right, but do you pick all the little pins or leaave em, if I leave em what about dunking? basicly "how do you start a new flush" with a mono tub?

I have the same question about my monotubs. I left all the little pins on and dunked for 16 hours. I'm not sure if that was the cause of my tub not pinning again, but it's a possibility.

for cakes, after dunking roll them in vermiculite and throw them right back into the fruiting chamber.
for monotubs, pick all of the regular sized mushrooms. leave the pins as they will be your subsequent flushes. but make sure to pick the aborts (usually they stop growing permanently and turn blackish).
then either :
a) simply rehydrate your casing layer with a few mistings over a day or two
b) cover with distilled water, let soak for 12 hours, and drain thoroughly.

would injecting a cc or 2 of honey water (or some other substance for more nutes) into various sites into your myc help? and how much in how many sites?

naw thatd be asking for contams spliff. it'll start pining again just give it some time and leave it be.  Also what did you spawn to? that will also affect how your second flush looks. Also make sure you drained it well after dunking. Dont want loose moisture chillin in there.
Either way though it's on its' way.

Don't pins have a tendency to abort when they have water on them for too long? I know when misting a casing the concensus is to stop misting once there are pins and then continue if absolutely necessary when the shrooms are more mature. I just went ahead and dunked with all the small pins still on the casing, but that was the question I kept asking myself. I'm still waiting for the myc to recover by the way so I haven't been able to fully answer my own question. However, the pins seem to have made it through ok. I guess it just makes me question the "Don't mist pins" rule.

I dunked for 6 hours...told should have been longer (12-18?)....I cleaned up my cakes....then dunked...then back into the FC....pins within 48 hrs....and some (though not numerous) good growth coming...

I for one don't agree with the "Don't mist pins" rule,just let a fine spray gently fall on them and they will continue growing,as far as I'm concerned they aren't aborts till they start turning black.And yes you can(And should) dunk,after all the mature mushrooms have been picked,it doesn't matter if you dunk when there are some pins on the casing,it shouldn't do them any harm in my experience

I've found if i mist knots/pins with no FAE i get more aborts. I do alot better keeping the top of my FC cracked for a couple hours after misting. I can still maintain a good humidity even with the FC cracked...plus i get constant FAE, which evaporates excess water quickly.
Pins do survive dunking fine tho. weird huh?
