Hello!
We colonized a brown rice flour substrate with spores, and they're all fuzzy white and ready to go. Problem is, I've been doing some reading, and it seems this particular shroom is best in a manure-based substrate. I was wondering if we could make up for that by putting manure in the casing mixture? Or will they grow ok without it? We are planning on doing the 50/50+ tek mixture (vermiculite, peat moss, calc.carbonate, oyster shell). Should we add a layer of manure, or mix it in.. or just forget it?

thats spawn that you colonized ....what did that mixture consist of in pf jars or quarts? is it still incubating in darkness? you could take that colonized spawn that you have and add it to horse poo at a ratio of 1 part spawn one part poo .... then after its colonized add casing layer..... goodluck
