dunk and roll sucks!

afer my first flush of awesome brazialins I dunked over nite then rolled in vermiculite in the morning

I noticed that the pins will not form where the vermiculite sticks to the cake

so they are all forced to pin at the bottoms where the vermiculite didnt adhere to

I swear I had better results before by just dunking what does the vermiculite supposed to do on the sides?

first flush was very potent wow!

Dunk and roll is an established tek that has been proved for years. Did you roll in dry verm, then mist afterward until the verm was saturated? The verm serves as a casing layer. If you leave it dry, it sucks moisture from your cake.

Yea man like RR said after U roll U gotta get that verm moist this should help U get a better pinset if not U might be making it to wet and the fruit might only be growing where the water drips off the verm.

I used my first drunk ever last week after some advice on the board. I'm sold!!! the fruits are much larger. i didn't completely cover my cakes thou. maybe try to cover most of the cake and follow the above directions?!?!?

aren't you supposed to dunk and roll only after birthing the cake? and only dunking after flushes, no rolling?

well that must be be where i fucked up I didnt think you wated moisture directly on the cake

anyways once I read this I misted them lightly

Cakes often pin from the bottom where the most moisture is that is if your not keeping the cakes very moist.

You cant put dry verm on a cake and leave it dry. The verm is there to provide moisture. Let it.
