Dual Monitor Problem

I have a radeon 1600, trying to dual monitor it. The second monitor will work during boot up. Once it hits windows login the screen goes black. Ive tried everything i can think of and have used radeon cards for years, cant figure out why i cant get it to work.

Hate to state the obvious, but have you enabled it under display properties ("Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor")?

lol i thought i implied i was smart enough to do that :smile:

ive tried just about everything there is to click and change (im not a noob at this sort of stuff its realy odd..) ive found stuff on google a couple people posting the same issue but with no replys. Dont realy feel like dealing with tech support but may have to.

let's see if i can remember this propperly, i havent used windows in a while. right click on the desktop and click on properties. go to the settings tab. you will see a picture with 2 monitors on it. right click on each and make sure they are active and extended on to.

After you log into windows will the monitor work? (you said is works, then blanks out at the log in screen?)

Sounds like lack of power to support another monitor. Whats your power supply on your pc?
