appeal for cacti society
    #6186168 - 10/19/06 12:12 PM (17 years, 5 months ago)

you know how the pub has the vet forum, or OTD has whatever they have... well i was thinking wouldn't it be awsome to have an ethno sub forum that is invite only.
the purpose, a sort of network of us cactus freaks to share cacti stuff and have open trade, like an "order of cacti" or something. a clandestine organizartion dedicated to making available to one another, cacti.

sort of like an inner circle of trusted cacti addicts.

too obscure?

i think this would be a wonderful addition to the community, not sure about invite only, but a cacti subforum would definately be handy, plenty of us grow cacti around here it could be a very useful resource, I'd say if this gets enough response HERE, you should suggest it in the WA&F, with a link to the this thread.

Cacti growers definately make up a very large portion of the ethno growers, i think a forum like this could be very successful.

I suggest "Blue Cactus Cult".

Or alternately, just "Cult of the Cactus"

Mature and healthy pedros tend to have a bluish tinge to them... which makes the first title relevant, other than just being a BOC reference.

how do you like the Blue Cactus Cult idea, though?

mm, well, no, personally no.
it's too much of a faddish novelty, and appeals to onlt certain people, not nesisarily of the cactus kind.

i picked the "order of st peter"
because st. peter is another way of saying san pedro.
plus it makes it sound like a quasi-religous secret society.

theres already a church of "peyote way"

i thought this was a good idea because personally, I don't do much shroomin' or LNC'n or gettin high at all anymore.
but i really got hooked on growing the cacti.

perhaps if we had a cacti forum, there would be more interest in the cacti community at the shroomery.

perhaps people around the world would join into our cultural cultivator group here and then we would all have more access to different cacti and seeds, sorta like what the shroomery did for mush cult.  Compare availability and cost NOW with 5 years ago.  I beleive the shroomery did more for making spores and methods available than anything else.

The real brilliance i think ive found here is we dont make it a "ethno cactus" forum, but merely cactus, this way we attract people who aren't all about the drug aspect.

BUT the original members being ethno folk, would always lean the society into cultivating the ethno cacti.
Our collections rotate around active cacti, but thats not all were into.

some cactaphile would see all out lovely pedros and lohpos and want to grow some,  maybe they have access to unusual strains or species, trading begins. the world grows.

word could get out about the forum among other cacti forums and we could establish a greater network, more ideas, more interesting stuff.

people will probably still be put off by the drug aspect. but then you cant save everyone from propaganda.  (even tho what im suggesting has an air of communism)

wake up dude, we dont even have the weed subforum yet.

i daresay that if we cant wake the mods up for that they wont be too quick to move for a cactus forum thats invite only.

i petitioned for a regular cactus subforum along with the weed subforum, and that was like 4 months ago.

also: what would be the point of this society, and why do we need it?
