My friend claims that there are no poisonous liberty cap look alikes in the UK. Is this true? And also, is there any place with a comprehensive list of the types of psilocybe mushrooms which grow in the UK?

What looks alike is subjective. Thus, if the person is not very perceptive, they could easily pick a poisonous "look-a-like". What looks alike to you, may not look remotely similar to me.

Are there any small brown / cream coloured mushrooms, with a pronounced nipple and grow in grass habitats that are deadly either alone or when mixed with alcohol?

I think once you've seen one you'd have to be blind or stupid to pick the wrong ones. I havent come across anything resembling them on my travels. But its my first year hunting so dont take my word for it.

Hmmm, well basically I've just picked up these shrooms today I noticed on my way to university. They stood out as they were in a rather large crowd of other mushrooms of the same appearance, so I rounded them up. They are pale as the poisonous mushroom highlighted above is, but with a not-too-drastic nipple at the top of which is coloured amber. The gills are brown. I did a few spore prints earlier and they turned out brown also. I'm not entirely sure what this means.

Basically there isnt anything in fields in the uk that will kill you that looks like a lib.
Once you find, and 100% ID one, you'll never go wrong, but if you have
never found one, you need to be very careful with your first ids
As before you see one, when you start hunting them, every little brown mushroom
looks like ti might be one, and there are hundreds of little brown mushrooms
out there.
Most just give you gut ach, and or the shits. So be carefull untill you have made a 100% positive id

but on a serious note, dont eat anything u havent identified 100%
cos its quite possible to find LMB's that can either kill u or make u extremely sick, that could be a long term thing also... meaning it could take a while for u to feel the effects, no such thing as short term death huh!
