HELLO EVERYBODY IM VERY NEW TO THIS SITE. I LIVE ON LONG ISLAND NEWYORK AND I MASTER IN THE ARTS OF LANDSCAPE DESIGN.LOL.ANYWAY.. SO IM CUTTIN THIS GUYS LAWN RIGHT,AND I LOOK DOWN AND SEE A HOLE PACTH OF MUSHROOMS GROWING RIGHT UNDER A TREE. so i look at them and they look kind of like mushrooms ive gotten so i said what the hell ill take some and do some research and see whats up and have myself a good time.i figured if anybody can help me with this its the fellow shroom eaters of this site.so can u please tell me if thsese are magic magicmushrooms or poison mushrooms and if they are should i take the risk of eating them?and whould you eat them?please be forword with me  and dont lie.thanks to everybody that has took the time to read this and help me out u are much apreciated.i will check back in a few days to see what the out come is. thanks all!!  :cool: :mushroom2:

Those are probably coprinus micaceus. Edible but not choice and likely to cause problems if alcohol is consumed up to 3 or so days after eating them. Welcome to the wonderful, confusing world of mushroomws. Hunt on, good fellow...

Yep, Coprinus (technically, now it should be Coprinellus micaceus), but those are past their eat by date. If you're going to eat them the gills should still be white.

Yes, those are Coprinus, which are not hallucinogenic, and most likely aren't all that great eating. Luckily, if you were to eat them you wouldnt die though. :smile:

Oh, and just for the record...no one will lie to you here on this board. They may be mean if you ask simple questions which could be found in the FAQ, but, our general outlook here at the shroomery is in "stopping misinformation about mushrooms".

Not actives, that's for sure. You'll learn with further research that there's more to identification than similarities, you have to start noticing intricate details of a mushroom to make a proper identification, especially with all of the look-alikes out there. Research some of the active mushrooms that grow in your area and note their details.

first off, your life doesn't depend on it. if you're not positive they're edible, don't eat them.
and secondly, shrooms usually in lawns/grass aren't active.
