    #6092329 - 09/23/06 01:11 AM (17 years, 6 months ago)

I few weeks ago I tried a WBS tech and a few got contaminated so I dumed them into a bucket the last one i dumped was black. I was in the garage and a big poof of black shit went into the air. now that stuff is appearing all over my BRF jars I have been making and I can not get rid of it!!!

any help will be appreciated...

Thanks,

Just gotta be crack headedly sterile... Tha big black cloud is a BAD sign. NEVER open that shit inside, in fact, if it was all black, it shouldn't have been opened at all. It should have gone right into the trash OUTSIDE.

Godamn... The black cloud was a cloud of black mold spores. Black mold is toxic to humans, so I hope you didn't inhale a big whiff of spores. If so, you probably won't die, but it means that you probably walked right back into the house, covered in thousands perhaps milloins of black mold spores, and deposited them throughout the house.

If you haven't made a glove box yet, you will want to now. No cutting corners for you anymore, you better just as well pretend that the air is radioactive to your mushrooms and any of the material used to cultivate them.

This is the reason I recommend tossing out contaminated projects, jar and all. If you really need to save the glass jar for financial reasons, PC it first before opening.

Bad move dumping the black mold out. Now you're gonna have to scrub every inch of your house, which is damn near impossible now.

Like curecat said, glovebox is the only way you'll probably ever make mushrooms again.
