I'm not sure if you are aware of that post in OT, its been bumped and is somewhat old now.

The full story condensed: 3D got some database help a long time back, 8-10months ago, from a good friend. He gave him access to the database and this friend fixed it up real nice.

About 6 months after that a roomate of the guy who fixed the database got into an argument in chat with some of us and 1hr later he logged in using 3D's pass that he must have stole from his roomate and deleted Off Topic.

We learned a lesson, but one that would have been hard to avoid. Say 3D gave him access with his own unique login/pass, his roomate would still have been able to do what he did. The person who did the database work 3D and I trusted completely, it was just unfortunate his roomate did what he did.

Like I've said before on this matter its unfortunate and just bad luck that all this happened. We are always carefull about access to the database, and we do regular backups just in case.

But you have to understand there will be times where a trusted person does something you don't expect. Anno is a new admin, I trust him, but how could I ever be 100% sure he won't just do some crazy shit? I can't ever be 100% sure of anyone, especially people online that I've never met.

Life has its risks, sadly this happened to us, but it just makes us more paranoid in the future of trusting anyone.

People don't read the post date of the thread, and when someone bumps a thread they get confused like its relevant to today.
