a few specimens, id help
    #6050328 - 09/11/06 03:37 PM (17 years, 6 months ago)

i know these are some bad samples, but iam curious if i should go back in the morning, the farmer said thats when they come out. the area where i found them is far, so what do ya guys think? should i go back for a better sample.

small gill, thin fragile cap, ringless hallow stalk, gills attached to apex, spores appear to be blue-black, blue-brown, cap is convex, becoming flat, with rounded hump, found growing in clusters on manure in a shaded barn. flies and bugs were eating them, any thing else that may help? besides a good sample....
thanks i appreciate it,

hmm I dont know, look a little like cubensis but they dont have any apparent bruising, and the root of theyre stem looks weird for a cube. Definately dont eat em. If you find some better ones post back.

ok, i should go back, its a long ride, but it may be worth it. there were hundreds growing on a huge bed of manure.

any advice on picking them? i dont want to disturb the mycelium, and how to rid the bugs?
thanks i will pick responsibly as iam a newbie to actives, i found many tasty edibles today if anyone cares to see pics....

Hmm, I have found Coprinus with stipes that thick growing from piles of woodchips.   They looked so neat, I had to collect them.....  I also felt the need to set them with my other mushrooms  :frown:
