mexicana A strain casing
    #604903 - 04/11/02 12:23 AM (21 years, 11 months ago)

cased grass seed. Some mushrooms are emerging, they abort easily....
Large sclerotia lift up chunks of the casings soil. I'm hoping to catch some spores from these.

I'd be interested in knowing a little more. I was under the impression that the Ps. mexicana A was a very difficult strain to get to fruit, and I'd like to try it myself. What exactly is in the casing, and what is the casing kept in, relative humidity, light conditions, and temperature.

Looks promising!

It isn't difficult to fruit. The yields are just very low compared to the B strain.

Do any of you know why my qts of "A" colonized, are forming sclerotia, BUT there is this rhizomorphic growth taking over the already colonized jar!!!
It is really weird to see, and I can post a pic if you need it. It looks like a superhealthy cubie mycelia growing thru the mexicana...
hhhmmmm maybe it is.....shhh

Things often are what they appear to be. I had cubensis contaminate my growing projects before.

A picture would help.
