Reflection or Lateralus by Tool.
Some of the most beautiful lyrics you'll hear in music.

Bob Dylan - It's Alright Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)
Darkness at the break of noon Shadows even the silver spoon The handmade blade, the child's balloon Eclipses both the sun and moon To understand you know too soon There is no sense in trying.
Pointed threats, they bluff with scorn Suicide remarks are torn From the fool's gold mouthpiece The hollow horn plays wasted words Proves to warn That he not busy being born Is busy dying.
Temptation's page flies out the door You follow, find yourself at war Watch waterfalls of pity roar You feel to moan but unlike before You discover That you'd just be One more person crying.
So don't fear if you hear A foreign sound to your ear It's alright, Ma, I'm only sighing.
As some warn victory, some downfall Private reasons great or small Can be seen in the eyes of those that call To make all that should be killed to crawl While others say don't hate nothing at all Except hatred.
Disillusioned words like bullets bark As human gods aim for their mark Made everything from toy guns that spark To flesh-colored Christs that glow in the dark It's easy to see without looking too far That not much Is really sacred.
While preachers preach of evil fates Teachers teach that knowledge waits Can lead to hundred-dollar plates Goodness hides behind its gates But even the president of the United States Sometimes must have To stand naked.
An' though the rules of the road have been lodged It's only people's games that you got to dodge And it's alright, Ma, I can make it.
Advertising signs that con you Into thinking you're the one That can do what's never been done That can win what's never been won Meantime life outside goes on All around you.
You lose yourself, you reappear You suddenly find you got nothing to fear Alone you stand with nobody near When a trembling distant voice, unclear Startles your sleeping ears to hear That somebody thinks They really found you.
A question in your nerves is lit Yet you know there is no answer fit to satisfy Insure you not to quit To keep it in your mind and not fergit That it is not he or she or them or it That you belong to.
Although the masters make the rules For the wise men and the fools I got nothing, Ma, to live up to.
For them that must obey authority That they do not respect in any degree Who despise their jobs, their destinies Speak jealously of them that are free Do what they do just to be Nothing more than something They invest in.
While some on principles baptized To strict party platform ties Social clubs in drag disguise Outsiders they can freely criticize Tell nothing except who to idolize And then say God bless him.
While one who sings with his tongue on fire Gargles in the rat race choir Bent out of shape from society's pliers Cares not to come up any higher But rather get you down in the hole That he's in.
But I mean no harm nor put fault On anyone that lives in a vault But it's alright, Ma, if I can't please him.
Old lady judges watch people in pairs Limited in sex, they dare To push fake morals, insult and stare While money doesn't talk, it swears Obscenity, who really cares Propaganda, all is phony.
While them that defend what they cannot see With a killer's pride, security It blows the minds most bitterly For them that think death's honesty Won't fall upon them naturally Life sometimes Must get lonely.
My eyes collide head-on with stuffed graveyards False gods, I scuff At pettiness which plays so rough Walk upside-down inside handcuffs Kick my legs to crash it off Say okay, I have had enough What else can you show me?
And if my thought-dreams could be seen They'd probably put my head in a guillotine But it's alright, Ma, it's life, and life only.

wish you were here - pink floyd castles made of sand - jimi hendrix let it be - the beatles nothing else matters - metallica cats in the cradle... I forget the artist
But really most of my most emotional songs aren't on my list because of the lyrics in fact there are a few that don't have lyrics on my list

Dogs by Pink Floyd. In fact, the entire Animals album has many of my favorite lyrics. Very cynical and at times very angry, but very meaningful to me.
You gotta be crazy, you gotta have a real need You gotta sleep on your toes, when youre on the street You gotta be able to pick out the easy meat with your eyes closed And then moving in silently, down wind and out of sight You gotta strike when the moment is right without thinking.
And after a while, you can work on points for style Like the club tie, and the firm handshake A certain look in the eye, and an easy smile You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to So that when they turn their backs on you Youll get the chance to put the knife in.
You gotta keep one eye looking over your shoulder You know its going to get harder, and harder, and harder as you get older And in the end youll pack up, fly down south Hide your head in the sand Just another sad old man All alone and dying of cancer.
And when you lose control, youll reap the harvest that youve sown And as the fear grows, the bad blood slows and turns to stone And its too late to lose the weight you used to need to throw around So have a good drown, as you go down alone Dragged down by the stone.
I gotta admit that Im a little bit confused Sometimes it seems to me as if Im just being used Gotta stay awake, gotta try and shake of this creeping malaise If I dont stand my own ground, how can I find my way out of this maze?
Deaf, dumb, and blind, you just keep on pretending That everyones expendable and no-one had a real friend And it seems to you the thing to do would be to isolate the winner And you believe at heart, everyones a killer.
Who was born in a house full of pain Who was trained not to spit in the fan Who was told what to do by the man Who was broken by trained personnel Who was fitted with collar and chain Who was given a seat in the stand Who was breaking away from the pack Who was only a stranger at home Who was ground down in the end Who was found dead on the phone Who was dragged down by the stone.

I just watched some guy playing "4 Non Blondes - Whats Up" on the street on YouTube. Kind of cheesy, but kinda awesome at the same time. The original version is probably better for listening to the lyrics, but they are pretty good.

The Doughnut Song- Tori Amos
had me a trick and a kick and your message well you'll never gain weight from a doughnut hole then thought that i could decipher your message there's no one here dear no one at all
and if i'm wasting all your time this time maybe you never learned to take and if i'm hanging on to your shade i guess i'm way beyond the pale
and southern men can grow gold can grow pertty blood can be pertty like a delicate man copper to steel to a hinge that is faltered that let's you in let's you in let's you in something's just keeping you numb
you told me last night you were a sun now with your very own
devoted satellite happy for you and i am sure that i hate you too sons too many too many able fires
and if i'm wasting all your time this time i think you never learned to take and if i'm hanging on to your shade i guess i'm way beyond the pale

They must be reinterpreting the words for the occasion.

-------------------- "It's a joke. Greed and the desire to take drugs are two separate things. If you want to separate the two, the thing you do is make drugs legal. Accept the reality that people do want to change their consciousness, and make an effort to make safer, healthier drugs."

Time - lyrics by Roger Waters
Well the sun is the same in a relative way But you're older Shorter of breath and one day closer to death
Time and lying in the sunshine Staying home to watch the rain You are young and life is long And there is time to build again And then one day you find Ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run You missed the starting gun...
