Black Spot on PF Jar (PICS!)

Well yesterday i found a black dot on the top of my jar right by the dry verm layer. I am guessing i didn't clean up the wet brf/verm off the edge well enough. Is it contaminated, if so has anyone dealt with this b4? I am going to try and save it unless it spreads to much or has taken over the center.

What do yall think?

EDIT: Ok well i know i just posted this but right when i was done i check on it (its been 24 hours) and the white is growing over it. What does this mean? Is it not a contaminate?

BTW its been removed from the other but is still in incubation.

It looks like the last spot to colonize. I don't see anything obviously wrong.

Thanks that makes me feel better.

I was thinking the same thing when it started to colonize over it but nothing else in the jar or any of my other jars have anything that dark and black like that. What do you suppose it is? If it is just brf/verm why black? Sorry for the questions, just wanna learn. :confused:

i agree with roger, but to me it looks like a shadow, an empty space where you didnt fill the jar completely.
either way i doubt its anytihng to worry about

I get this all the time, and thing are usually kosher in the end. Still freaks me out to see it though... :confused:
