Wating for cantams to set in.

My freind is looking at his jars, seeing this white fuzzy stuff grow from each four inoculation points in each of his jars except one... It's been 5 days he said, and then he asked me how long he has to wait for the contams to set it, or even if this white fuzz was a contam.

When you get contams, what day do you notice them, and how long do you wait before you feel safe from contams during the colonizing process.

theres no set day to start noticing contams...it could get contaminated 2 days after you inoculate it...or two days before its 100% colonized....when your cake is 100% colonized you should still be wary of contamination..always use sterile techniques!
as for the white fuzz in the inoculation spots...chances are its mycelium...without pictures im not for sure...but your probably fine...
if the substrate has the right moisture content and you keep the jars in the low 80s they should be fully colonized in about 2 weeks or so...

try reading some casing teks....youll be much happier with the results...and you can use the cakes you have when there done...

good luck
