I do. As a matter of fact, I've actually grown fond of it recently.
I used to look up as I looked for areas to hunt and would avoid the pines, unless I thought there would be Amanitas present.
Recently, I've found such a wide variety of fungi amongst the pines.
Check out these boletes, a big cluster just busting up out of the ground:

Yummies:

Beauties:

and a nice surprise

Please excuse my zealousness, but, I've been appreciatin' the pines lately

Was thinking the same thing you are.... So if you want any hunting buddies...lemme know. I have a 4WD and just got back from driving/camping all over Wharton SF this past weekend. Very wet, very humid, lots trails.

You mean the pine barrons in NJ? If so I have been there before hunting. Found several edibles.. nothing active. Lots of cool misc (not edible/not active) finds either way.

No, SC. But it is quite out of place. The only one there, and none have come back since. On a lonely piece of horse crap in the woods  :smirk:
