how long wil lc last not in fridge

i cant refrigerate my lc's they have been sitting in a box with foli over the top fully colonized for 3 weeks now. r they bad?i shot some sterile peroxide water into each of them. the myc. seems to be falling apart and making the water kinda cluody

why would you shoot sterile peroxide water in them?

i know the original honeywater tek on the cultivation section of the site mentions adding H2O2... but that's spelled disaster for me when i tried it once for the hell of it in the past. then i thought about it. what's the point? if there's a contaminate present in the jar already, its too late, the peroxide isn't going to help. if the jar is clean, what's the point? the peroxide will break down in a matter of days anyway. just an added "injection" makes it more likely to introduce a contam. they shouldn't be falling apart and cloudy... sounds like bad news. mycelium in an LC are young and fragile... they don't really fare so well against peroxide.

anyway, had you not done that... ive used LC sitting out at room temp up to 2 months before. can't give you an exact "expiration date" but i can say that worked. growth wasnt as vigorous as a "fresh" LC (and refrigerating them basically pauses their metabolic process, keeping them fresh)... but, it worked.

thanks. well it seemed logical to me but, they still look helthy as hell and im gonna try to make a new one and see if i can just keep making new ones, to delay since refridgeration isnt an option. i can make more.

making more will actually cause them to lose vitality quicker.

its not how old a culture is in the sense of time, but how many cell divisions it has gone through, how many times you've expanded it out. you'll still get healthy vigorous mycelium after a few generations, and honestly its more likely to contaminate before senesce, but keep that in mind.
