I am just worried about my bud . i am sorry about the pictures. Gills: adnate Flesh: thin, firm. Stem: slender 2-3 X 1/8 in no bruising Habitat; near an old stomp in a field. Cap: ointed projection, not expandinhg, pale yellowish brown, drying to almost white, smooth, accept for inside is black

Those seem to have SOME resemblence to "Liberty Caps" P. semilanceata, but I'm pretty sure that they are not.
Also more information is needed.
Spore color? Cut the cap off a fresh specimen and lay it on a white sheet of paper, gills down. Leave it for several hours.
Also, where are you located? What state?

Looks like some sort of Coprinus. Don't take my word for it, though. What I can tell with certainty is that you have no use for them.
EDIT: Same thing goes for the first picture, as the gills seem to be turning inky. I'm less certain about the first one.
EDIT #2: I didn't realize those were both from the same collection. The Datura i ingested last night still has me out of it. You're friend should be fine aslong as he doesn't consume any alcohol.

Well try to get a spore print on the first one. It kind of resembles a Bolbitius or even other things.. spore print would help narrow it down.
The second set of pics are pretty blurry but look like a bunch of old beat up Coprinus. Maybe even a mixed collection? The gills/spore prints were black right?

It's okay I can understand, you have to remember that patience is an important part of this hobby though. Some poisonings are caused because people are too impatient or anxious to eat something. He should consider himself as lucky if they are just C. micaceus. It could have easily been something worse. It's like gambling with your life to eat random mushrooms because you might think they look like something else.

Yes; most definitely not something to even take slight chances with.

P. Semilanceata never have shredded caps as seen on your pics. Also they have a tight joint between cap and stem that almost never fall to pieces:

Bloody dome heads Hissss..well identified though coz I'm not sure I would...saw some very tall flat heads in long grass once which I wish I could show you (never quite seen their like here) unfortunately the long grass was Blitzed by the farmer and they don't grow there anymore. They were big (I don't think I'll be calling anything "huge" however following the pictures the German guys took of their hunt last year, sheeesh).

Yeah, liberty caps can be really huge when they grow in long grass and also can have almost flat caps. Though old flat cap specimens are mostly useless 'cos they often have rotten or infected with worms.
