Quote:
This is the Discworld ? flat, circular, and carried through space on the back of four elephants who stand on the back of Great A'tuin, the only turtle ever to feature on the Hertzsprung-Russell Diagram, a turtle ten thousand miles long, dusted with the frost of dead comets, meteor-pocked, albedo-eyed. No-one knows the reason for all this, but it's probably quantum.
Much that is weird could happen on a world on the back of a turtle like that.
?Pyramids (1989)
anyone share the love for these novels? i haven't read any for a while now but i've read most of them i belive (all good!)

i highly recommend any of the books! although it's much more fun to start with the early stuff and move on since it's much better when you have some back growned on the characters...
i wish i was uber rich so i could produce movies off of these books (and make even more money )

Try starting with "Gaurds! Guards!"... It's a great way to get into the insane world of Pratchett!

Thats quite neat, how big is it? For me, it was more the way he writes than the individual books, they were all funny.

Thats fantastic. I'm a huge fan, I've always got one on the go, this isn't as tedious as it sounds as I own all of them as by the time I've finished reading one there'll be another one that I can barely remember so I'll read that one. He is very funny but I very much enjoy the philosophical questions and observations he likes to raise/make.

yeah there's much more to it then just humore... he makes the most cynical observations about the world! i love how his use of the english language too (unlike the harry potter books which i couldn't read as they were far from that! they make good movies though )
