Elo Elo

It's been a while since I've posted in the forum...I haven't really had time to cook much lately partly due to the fact that I'm working fulltime and I'm doing my final thesis as well. So, it's been take away and eating out for us!

Last friday I went to a restaurant where they serve 5 to 7 courses of desserts plus a savoury course with matching wines & sherry. It has to be one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at and it's actually not THAT bad when it came to price (77 euros per person). Below are some photos from our dinner, very unusual combinations but it worked really well!

1st, some "spice ice," i believe it's blackcurrant with some pepper.

2nd, some bread with salted butter imported from middle Finland (small town)...there were carrot bagguettes with some sultanas, molasses rye bread (traditional finnish with a little twist), forgot what the bun was (but it was good!)

3rd, best lamb i've ever tried..."african style" with some coulis, such a nice texture

4th, almond ice cream in a melon "soup" with a piece of caramel

5th, mango sorbet with some merengue-ish tasting joint looking thing

6th, the most unusual of the lot...from l-r: fresh honey with wax, brioche, parmesean cheese with PARMESEAN ICE CREAM!

7th, blackberry tea laced with lemon froth on the top (to be drunk all at once but not like a shot)

8th, dark chocolate mousse in a, i don't know what it's called with caramel ice cream. god this tasted so good with the sherry.

and...fireworks to end the evening

I didn't take a picture of the wines..but I'd have to say the Moscato d´Asti was the best out of all...

hope you guys enjoyed the photos!

It isn't more complicated than that.
It is opening to or recieving the present moment, pleasant or unpleasant, just as it is,
without either clinging to it or rejecting it.
