So the jars are in the PMP with a 92% humidity and 78 degree temp, its been 5 or 6 days for some and a 4 days for others. Still no pinning, should i be worried? i have blue light shinning on them 24/7 its about 20 or 25 watts. I didnt dunk my cakes only put them straight into the pmp (brf cakes in 1/2 pint jars) LMK what to do everybody thanks

Five or six days is a bit early, but what's up with a blue light? Use full spectrum or something that is higher in the band, such as fluorescent. RR

Yes! If you haven't done enough reading to know that it usually takes AT LEAST 7 days for pins to form, then you're headed for trouble.

Where did you read that, it's BS. 7-18 is the real range to see pins.
Use a regular flourescent light. A black light would probably work fine, but it's not optimal.

Black lights cause mutations. Use normal cool white fluorescents. One of the 'bluest' lights you can get is going to be metal halide, but it's serious overkill for mushroom growing. A 'mood light' with a blue lense is NOT blue light. When they say 'blue' they refer to the frequency of the light waves, with the blue end of the spectrum near the top, or highest frequency. MH comes closest and if you ever grow mushrooms in the same room with an mj grow, you'll see an increase in pinning activity from the MH light. RR

Could i get some links for these lights in which people speak of? is there any place i could just buy a light bulb as i have a light stand, or where can i buy a full light that i could hang over my FC? What are the price ranges for these lights? And will me just turning on the light in the room work just as well?? lol Thanks

no. you'd see a significantly smaller wallet, and that's it.
basically any old light works. cool white flourescent is a good choice because its high in the right spectra and won't heat up your FC as much as incandescent. simply having your FC in a normally lit room, or near a window with indirect sunlight (again indirect for heat reasons) is all you need.
