I am wondering if anyone has any expierence with the Gymnopilus spectabilis "Big Laughing Gym " mushrooms sold by
http://www.jlfcatalog.com/ I am looking to purchase some for psychedelic purposes and would like to check up on the legitimacy first. Are they good trippin shrooms? I also want to make sure that they will get to me if i order. Any help would be awesome

Dunno if they're trippy but I happen to have Stamets' Psilocybin Mushrooms o/t World lying on my printer...
Yup: Gyms are both moderately to inactive & very bitter / unpleasant-tasting.
So you'll need to eat more of badder-tasting Shrooms.
Go to the Shroomgrowing section & beyond and grow your own PF-TEKstyle.

There not worth eating. It takes a ton of them to get any buzz off of. If you decide to try some, be sure and get at least an OZ- then make Tea out of it.

Make beef stew, it masks the taste pretty well. Eat hearty and don't worry about an overdose like with cubensis. It is a mild, but noticeable trip.

LOL. Yeah, I'd stay away from JLF.
As far as Laughing Gyms go, eat 5-6 grams for every 3 grams of cubensis you enjoy consuming. Basically, I'm saying eat twice as much Gym as you would cubensis.
G. spectabilis does contain Psilocybin.

They containe kavatones which are found in Yohimbe bark. So far no chemical analysis have turned up psilocine/psilocybine inthe Big laughing Gyms.
Although I hav eaten them and a few others whoa lso bioassayed them, we agree the high was psuilocybian.
It is possible that all of the tales of big laughing guyms could be another Gymnopilus spies other than spectabilis of which there are 12 varieities which are psilocybian with chemical analysis.
