Small Red Shroom

I have a lot of mushrooms waiting to be ID'd, but as I don't have a lot of time at the moment, and this is my first request, I'll start with this one, I have a few of these.

Habitat: Found close to the edge of the woods, many trees around, was found growing from the ground.

Gills: Gills aren't any special color, they are off-white.

Stem: Dark at the bottom, more golden colored at the top of the stem.

Cap: Dark red/brown, black spots, black at tip.

Spore print color: I don't know how to do this.

Bruising: Don't know how to do this either.

Location: Picked in Maryland.

Please excuse my ignorance, this is my first post, I would be more than happy to provide any more information you may need.

Thank you so much in advance!

Looks like some sort of hygrocybe, maybe hygrocybe conica or something.

I agree. Hygrocybe conica, the Witch's Hat.

This is the only mushroom I know that has been variously reported as edible, psychoactive, and deadly. Highly *not* recommended for consumption.
